The VarioLoc Stem, TPS Coating, Short is a premium, bone-preserving cementless hip stem manufactured by aap Joints GmbH (Germany) and distributed by Prime Medical Concept Sdn Bhd.
Manufactured from high-strength Titanium Alloy (Ti-6Al-4V), this stem features a reduced-length design specifically developed to preserve soft tissues and bony structures. Its bone-preserving concept provides excellent compatibility with minimally invasive surgical approaches.
The stem incorporates a circumferential Titanium Plasma Spray (TPS) surface on the proximal body to promote reliable, long-term cementless biological fixation. With a 131° neck angle, the stem is available in both Standard Offset and Lateral Offset versions, allowing precise anatomical reconstruction for different patient needs.
For enhanced surgical efficiency and inventory optimization, all cementless VarioLoc Stem variants, including TPS Coating, HA Coating, and PressFit versions, utilize the same universal instrument set. Surgeons only need to change the broaches, reducing inventory requirements while maintaining flexibility for intraoperative stem selection.
The stem provides excellent compatibility with a wide range of femoral heads, including CoCrMo heads (22mm, 28mm, 32mm, 36mm) and Ceramic heads (28mm, 32mm, 36mm, 40mm), available with multiple offset options to support individualized hip reconstruction.
