Types of Hemorrhoids

Are you suffering from hemorrhoids? What types are there?

Involve rectal bleeding, displayed as bright red blood on stool or in the toilet bowl after a bowel movement. There is generally no pain if internal haemorrhoids are not prolapsed – an internal haemorrhoid is a described as prolapsed if the haemorrhoid has fallen through the anal opening – this may then cause discomfort and pain as a result.

Easily detected through feeling of one or more tender lumps near the anus. Alongside anal itching, discomfort is further exacerbated when sitting. Oftentimes such symptoms disappear after a few days.

What is Hemorrhoids (Piles)?

Hemorrhoids, also commonly known as piles (Buasir in Bahasa Malaysia and 痔疮 in Chinese),

is a common disease amongst both males and females. Healthy hemorrhoids contribute

significantly to the closure of the anus as a vascular cushion. The anus is first

and foremost controlled by an internal sphincter muscle.

About half of all people will develop some form of hemorrhoid before age 50, he says. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) says that more than 75 percent of people will experience hemorrhoids at least once in their lifetime.

Complications of hemorrhoids can include the following:

· Blood clots – in an external hemorrhoid (thrombosis)

· Skin tags – extra skin left behind when a blood clot in an external hemorrhoid dissolves

· Infection of a sore on an external hemorrhoid

· Strangulated hemorrhoid – when the muscles around your anus cut off the blood supply to an internal hemorrhoid that has fallen through your anal opening anemia

Grade of
Hemorrhoids

Grade 1

There are 4 grades of hemorrhoids. For Grade 1 Hemorrhoids, the anal cushions bleed but do not prolapse.

Grade 2

For Grade 2 Hemorrhoids, the anal cushions prolapse through the anus on straining but reduce spontaneously.

Grade 3

For Grade 3 Hemorrhoids, the anal cushions prolapse through the anus on straining or exertion and require manual replacement into the anal canel.

Grade 4

For Grade 4 Hemorrhoids, the prolapse stays out at all times and is irreducible.
